In this project the objective was to find a product by abstracting shapes from an insect. After sketching several insects, I chose to use a stag-beetle as my inspiration. By abstracting its form I found an interesting shape in which I incorporated the functionality of a padlock. The padlock imitates the movement of a stag-beetle by it’s opening in the center.
